OneNiteStan Social Club Karaoke Etiquette*

*The Karaoke Etiquette criteria is intended for the possible selection of candidates and/or considerations for the Annual Karaoke Millennium Awards

1. Karaoke Venues: The ABC's of success A. We recommend having, lighted entrance and pleasant safe/atmosphere for singing. B. Safe/secure and attended parking (Free is a plus) C. Good friendly service and good food menu items available

2. Karaoke Host:

* Be considerate,

* Maintain a fair rotation

* Have the music and

…they will come.

3. Karaoke Singers:

* Show consideration for the host. Everyone in the room loves to sing and your turn will come.

* Respect those who take the journey to the mic; it can be long and habit forming.

* Show consideration for other singers. Don’t stand too close and carry on a conversation.

* Don’t get frustrated by people talking and having fun while you are singing.

4. Remember:

* Karaoke singing is like life - you must live it to appreciate it.

So watch, listen and enjoy from your heart. And finally;

5. Karaoke Stars: When all else fails, sing your best song.

Each year the Detroit area’s finest karaoke singers and establishments are honored for their performances and hospitality. Detroit’s rich musical history is embodied in the voices of some of the most talented karaoke performers in the Detroit metropolitan area. Metro Detroit karaoke is unique both in the quality of the performances and the atmosphere of excitement. Bruce T. (B.T.) Baker, President of OneNiteStan Social Club, LLC established these awards in appreciation for the vocal talents of these exceptional singers and to acknowledge local restaurants and clubs that feature karaoke venues. Also noted are the karaoke hosts who best set the stage for new and seasoned singers with their personalities and showmanship.

We believe that each venue is unique in the style that the host, hostess or hosts presents karaoke.

Some karaoke venues are P’s where people go to see talented karaoke people perform.

Some karaoke venues are M’s where karaoke people go to be seen and maybe give a magnificent performance.

Some karaoke venues are S’s where musical selections of your choice are available and a variety of singers congregate to have fun.

Annual Karaoke Millennium Awards

OneNiteStan Social Club LLC and I would like to thank all of our honored recipients and guests who attended the 19th Annual Karaoke Millennium Awards Ceremony at the Detroit Edison Boat Club, Saturday November 17, 2018. In addition, we would like to thank the Staff of First Class Management for the excellent service at their facility. Chef Dave's reputation of providing a delicious meal was left non-touched. The Karaoke Millennium Awards were established to honor excellence in singing, customer service and hosting for karaoke enthusiasts. All of our honorees lived up to the high standards these awards were intended. OneNiteStan Social Club would like to thank all of the wonderful performers for singing their songs so magnificently and thank Kim Owens for doing an excellent job as this year's host. B.T.'s Golden Pot 50/50 Raffle collected $565.00. The winner of the Golden Pot 50/50 was Peter Kruger at Bert’s Marketplace. (Make-A-Wish Foundation and Breast Cancer Foundations will get half of the Pot). I must end by saying, we lost two of our most beloved karaoke singers this year Carol White and Romance, may they rest in peace, gone but not forgotten, and we will sing together again one day. Please keep singing and may you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season.

Our objective is to support the love of karaoke. Basically, we go out to various karaoke clubs and "Sing", I also photograph singers performances, and enjoy a meal "taste the food" the intend is to keep OneNiteStan Social Club Friends posted on new and established karaoke show openings in the Detroit Metro Area. We want to create a commentary with "Karaoke People" on karaoke issues, such as location, music, sound quality and environment.
